Step 1: Determine the correct thorn size
Before purchasing a new GU lock, it is important to measure the spindle size. This is the distance from the front of the lock to the center of the cylinder. Note: the lock is always slightly recessed in the door. Therefore, you should measure from the front of the lock and not from the front of the door.

Step 2: Remove the old GU locking mechanism
